Upcoming Events, Workshops, and Education Programs:
The Education and Training Department staff continue to provide opportunities for members to gain and enhance their skills through our online trainings. These trainings are open to members in All Regions. Workshop descriptions and registration for all current offerings are available online at cseany.org.
Participants must use their own time or have approved release time to attend trainings if attending during their normal work hours. Grievance Representation Training and Representing Members in Discipline and Interrogation Training are both required for all officers as per the CSEA Constitutions.

This is a reminder that the union will be in the lobby of the Strozzi building from 7 AM to 10 a.m. the event will be taking place on Wednesday 3/1/2023 CSEA has several different vendors coming. We also will be selling Raffle tickets and taking your $10 deposit for April 15 Union meeting at the Foundry. The vendors will be discussing important matters related to our union. We need as many members as possible to attend.
Please make sure to arrive on time and bring any questions or concerns that you may have so that we can address them.

Statewide Targeted Tuition Program
The Partnership’s Statewide Targeted Tuition Program enables aspiring nurses, welders, HVAC technicians, information technology professionals, and truck drivers to receive up to two targeted benefits. This is in addition to the two standard tuition benefits available to all CSEA-represented NYS employees.
The additional benefits help employees attain their coursework faster while reducing their tuition expenses.
Statewide Targeted Tuition Programs

- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- Information Technology
- Nursing
- Welding
Courses must be in session during the time frame of April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023. Applications must be received by March 31, 2023.
Federal Student Loan Forgiveness
The Biden Administration has kept its promise to cancel student loan debt. Federal loan borrowers with personal income less than $150,000, or household income less than $250,000, are eligible for up to $10,000 in debt cancellation and even more — up to $20,000 — if the borrower was a Pell Grant recipient. The application period is open now and will remain open through December 21, 2023.

The online application process is simple and takes only a few minutes to complete. You will not need to upload any documents or use a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID number to apply. You only need the following information:
- Name
- Social Security Number
- Date of Birth
- Phone Number
- Email Address
After submitting your application, it will be reviewed by Federal Student Aid and matched with your FSA records to confirm eligibility. FSA will contact you directly if they need more information.

Registration Information:
It is important to preregister because the workshop attendance is used to determine the amount of materials and reservations for meals. If you register but cannot attend, please contact the region office to cancel your attendance. This will provide other members the opportunity to register.
